AR486 - .297/300 Side lever rook rifle
A side lever rook and rabbit rifle in .297/300 calibre, serial no.: 571, from Thomas Jackson of Wigmore Street, London. The octagonal 28” barrel with machined top surface and fitted with folding leaf sights. The action locks tight and has a generally good bore with some old pitting at breech end. Thomas Jackson had been established in 1820 originally in Upper Goerge Street in London, moving to Portman Square and then to Wigmore Street in 1870, as business and reputation grew. The firm became Thomas Jackson & Son in 1872.
