AR597 - 11mm Mauser Spandau made Model 71/84 rifle. Nice and very honest 11mm Mauser Model 71/84 rifle No.: 8912, made SPANDAU and dated 1887, with 32in.clear. bright barrel with sharp rifling. All matching numbers. Unit marked to butt: 3. G.R.R.194 for 3rd Garde Regiment, a prestigious guards regiment formed in 8160, based in Berlin and part of the Garde-Korps. Metalwork generally very good with traces of faded finish and some staining.  Block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, correct brushed bright receiver with straight handled matching number bolt, walnut full-stock with clear ordnance stamps although scars to right hand side of butt and toe of butt, otherwise minor dings consistent with use. Iron furniture including three barrel-bands and stacking rod to the front of the concealed magazine tube, the whole with patchy apparently original finish except where noted. Scuffs around bayonet bar and top band and exterior of barrel.
